November just flew by, and we hope you took this time to connect and engage with your tribe this past month. Even if you didn’t utilize this month’s Blogger Building Blocks trainer, we’ve got one of the best tips for you to reach out and get to know your followers.
Although it’s been eleven years since its initial launch, Facebook remains one of the top social media networks today. That is why, as a blogger and someone who depends on online interaction, it’s important that you take advantage of this platform. But how do you do that exactly? You create and run a Facebook Group! Besides helping you connect with other women and bloggers, other benefits include:
- The power to remove disruptive members
- The ability to get relevant and exciting ideas for products, plus valuable feedback to help you refine your branding,
- The ability to provide customer service through your group in an instant and friendly way
Last, but not the least, you can use your Facebook Group as a valuable, enjoyable addition to your products or membership sites.
How to Start Your Own Facebook Group
Starting your own group is quite easy and quick to do. To get started:
- Have your title, cover photo, rules, and mission statement (description) ready.
- Create a slogan for your Facebook Group that sums up your mission in a sentence.
- Look over to the left-hand vertical column on your Facebook Feed and find “Groups.”
- Click on “Create Group” and follow the prompts, uploading the content you have pre-prepared.
- Make it a “closed” or “secret” group. Open groups tend to attract negative people who like to criticize, as well as outright trolls. Never automatically add someone. They will get every post for the group—and if they don’t want to join, this is the quickest way to annoy them.
- Write a “sticky” post to pin at the head of your Group feed, containing rules and guidelines.
- Share your group on your other social media accounts.
Make sure to use keywords in all your promotional posts—ones that your ideal members respond to on Facebook.
If your Facebook Group is going to be a “perk” for a paid membership site or VIP club that you are about to launch, consider inviting ideal candidates to join for free, as beta testers—both for your new club and its accompanying Facebook Group. They will be flattered that you wanted them enough to let them join for free, and will turn out to be your best promoters and affiliates—and you’ll receive highly helpful feedback and buzz creation before your big launch.
